Description
The large router plane is based on the Stanley 071 design and is available in open and closed mouth. This plane is used for cutting shallow mortises for hinges, inlay, grooves, and dadoes. Also used for a precise depth of cut. The plane has a fine screw feed for adjusting the depth of cut and a square blade for the shaft that is rigid and will not rotate under planing force. The open mouth blade can be reversed if you need to work into a corner. The closed mouth gives more support to the front of the blade which is good for cleaning the end of a groove or the edges of boards. A heavy ductile cast iron body with a 9.5mm (3/8”) square bevel blade and hard wood knobs. It is a fine quality traditional plane manufactured to precise Tolerances and therefore suited to the most demanding craftsman.
