Description
The router plane is based on the Stanley No. 271 design and is available in open and closed mouth. This plane is ideal for smoothing the bottom of grooves, dadoes and housings. It is an excellent plane for use in confined areas and for work such as inlaying and cleaning out hinges or lock plate housings. The open mouth allows a view while working and the closed mouth gives support to the blade which is useful for cleaning the end of a groove or the edges of a board. The cutter locks in position with a brass thumb screw. The base size is 105mm (4-1/8”) x 58mm (2-1/4”) supplied with a cutter 6.35mm (1/4”) having a hardness of 63HRC. It is a fine quality traditional plane manufactured to precise Tolerances and therefore suited to the most demanding craftsman.
